Do you Know the Heart of God?

There is so much talk about wanting to know God’s will. But in order to know God’s will you first need to know God’s Heart. You may have a PhD. in Theology and Biblical Studies, know Scripture inside and out and still not Know Him. That sounds absurd, but it’s true because there is huge difference between knowing about God, and knowing God. Imagine you had met former president Bush in a greeting line where you shook his hand and then went home and read his autobiography. At a dinner party you mentioned your acquaintance with President Bush. Well, technically it’s true, you met him and you acquired knowledge about Him- but in reality you don’t know him personally at all. Not the way a friend, or family member, or certainly not like Laura Bush his wife. Now she knows President Bush. She has intimate experiential knowledge about the deep inner person of who the man is.

It’s the same with God. When you Know God, you know His Heart of Love and it motivates every desire and action within and without. You understand what moves Him, grieves Him, and pleases Him. And the Earth shattering discovery of all time is that the answer lies within the individual heart of each us! Yes, God passionately loves us and is in pursuit of our heart! He simply wants our heart! He wants us to willingly offer Him all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, in response to His free-will offering of all Who He Is (I AM) manifested through Jesus Christ His Son.

When you tenderly know Him this way you can cry out to Him as your Daddy like it says in Romans 8:15… “For we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but we have received the Spirit of Adoption by whom we cry out Abba Father!” Don’t shy away from His embrace. He longs for your Heart. Come to Him today.

I Will Never Leave You nor Forsake You, Hebrews 13:5 Earrings

Jesus says “I AM Enough,” in every situation we face. He is our All-Sufficiency- our Everything. Do we really take this truth to heart, and rest contently in His unfailing love even when our world is shaken?

Hebrews 13:5 says “Be content with what you have, for He Himself has said, I will never leave, nor will I ever forsake you.”

Then it the next verse it says ” So we take comfort and are encouraged to boldly say, The Lord is My Helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

Therefore, our Contentment and Peace come from Jesus the Anchor of our soul, Who assures us that He Himself will be with us always. He is indeed enough.

Agape Unconditional Love Greek Ring

The Word LOVE has been thrown around so casually in our culture today that there seems to be no variation between the shades of meaning. There is a huge difference between “I love this outfit” or “I love this dog!” to “I Love You”… the significant person in your life. Yet we act as if these loves all fall into the same category. Not so!

There is a Love defined as AGAPE love and it is a Greek word meaning “the Love of choice.” It reflects God’s kind of Love that is purely unconditional and unselfish. It is most clearly understood within the boundaries of “Covenant Love.” God has cut a Covenant with His children through the death of His Son. It says in Romans 8 that nothing or no one can ever separate is from God’s Agape Love expressed through Jesus Christ.

Likewise when we enter into a Covenant relationship through marriage we too are saying we will vow to Love our partner with Agape. For better or for worse…we will choose to love no matter what the cost. Now, having said that, we must realize we can not accomplish this on our won. We must rely wholly and completely on the Love and Power of the Holy Spirit within to accomplish this. As we come to God daily and freely receive His extravagant love, we are better equipped to freely pour it out. It is futile to draw from an empty well.

Agape
